AC Milan are looking to rival Barcelona in their search for Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli.
A recent report by Spanish outlet SPORT claimed that Barcelona was eyeing Martinelli during the World Cup. Due to his financial problems, a transfer in the immediate future seems unlikely, but Martinelli is now attracting interest from another European club.
According to Calciomercatoweb, AC Milan are considering Martinelli as a replacement for Rafael Leao, if the Portuguese striker leaves the club in the January transfer window.

The chances of Arsenal allowing Martinelli to leave the club seem slim considering how quickly he has become a key player under Mikel Arteta.
However, if Milan get rid of Leao, they could have a sizeable transfer budget that could tempt Arsenal to make the sale.
According to GOAL, Arsenal have signed Martinelli for a fee of just £6m, so they can look to cash in if the price is right and trust their recruiting team to find South America’s next hidden gem.
However, selling Martinelli mid-season when Arsenal are pushing for the Premier League title wouldn’t make much sense.
