Everton fans demand changes and answers from the team owner.

A group of Everton fans who are pushing for changes at Goodison Park have written an open letter to owner Farhad Moshiri urging him to address their concerns. The supporters’ group ‘The 27 Years Campaign’ was formed last season and named after the number of trophies won by the ‘Toffees’ as a whole.

Since the Iranian billionaire wrote an open letter to fans in July, the group believes that Moshiri must answer a number of questions given the lack of communication with the masses of the fan community.

In addition, the 27 Year Campaign has inquired about the ability of Kenwright and Denise Barrett-Baxendale to “justify their performance” in their respective positions. Kenwright has been Everton chairman since 2004.

The Campaign 27 statement read: “Farhad Moshiri’s financial commitment to Everton is significant and his funding of our new stadium is most welcome. But the silence from him, as we battle on and off the field, is very concerning.

The team currently led by Premier League legend Frank Lampard sits in 17th position, just one point away from being in the relegation zone. The team desperately needs a total overhaul and reinforcements in January. They have lost five of their last seven games and are under a lot of pressure.

The open letter begins by saying that the team management’s request to judge them at the end of the summer window has been honored. The fans have continuously supported the coach and the team at home and away. But the lack of communication from the team owner has drawn scrutiny.

The open letter addressed to Farhad Moshiri has raised the following questions:

Finance

The club does not disclose any financial information beyond what is required by law. It is reasonable for shareholders and fans to anticipate regular updates on our financials in light of the construction of a new stadium, extensive and ongoing losses, and issues with profitability and sustainability. Our ability to compete is directly related to our finances.

Messages from the club have been mixed since the summer. Is the club on the market? Are you looking for new investors to help us pay for our working capital needs? Other Chiefs Association clubs seeking new businesses or owners have delegated to venture banks to deal with their prerequisites. They have been communicated clearly. What are you doing, what is your intention, and when will you clearly communicate it?

Change

Everton are in dire need of changes considering their position in the table. Taking into account that, as the owner of the team and the main shareholder, Farhad Moshiri is the only one capable of bringing about these changes.

In the nearly long time since he obtained his underlying equity interest, he has continued to serve in the current role of Director and CEO. Nothing about Everton’s government, business, finances or even football performance suggests they should stay employed. Our competitive position deteriorates annually in all respects as a result of significant losses and waste of resources. How can you justify your performance?
