TalkSport pundit Gabby Agbonlahor believes Patrick Bamford hasn’t looked the same since his injury-ravaged season last year.
The 29-year-old striker missed most of last season due to nagging injuries which saw Leeds United only survive relegation on the final day of the season.
The former Villa man believes Leeds are in dire need of another striker as Bamford look slower and weaker this season.
“What they lack is a striker who can get the ball into the back of the net. Bamford seems a million miles away. He doesn’t have legs, he doesn’t have a lot of energy and he doesn’t even hold the ball anymore. – Agbonlahor said.
“Rodrigo has been erratic when he has played there. They really are missing out on a top striker. Other than that, they are really entertaining.
“Bamford never had speed, but now he seems even slower, lazy. Even when the ball comes to him to make a one-two with a player, a defender hits him. He doesn’t look agile and sometimes injuries can do that to you.
That’s why they took it out. He doesn’t look at it right now.
“He may need games to get back into shape, but at the moment, he looks like a shadow of the Bamford I saw two years ago.”
