Bayern Munich are approaching RB Leipzig’s Konrad Laimer with a view to signing the midfielder for free next summer.
He is close to reaching a verbal agreement to bring Laimer to the Allianz Arena, Fabrizio Romano reports, before the Austrian’s contract with Leipzig expires at the end of the season.
Nothing has been signed yet, says Romano, but it is getting closer as Laimer wants to join Bayern and Julian Nagelsmann wants him from 2021.

This is a big signing for the German champions, but it will deal a major blow to Liverpool, who were also interested in the midfielder, claims the Daily Mail.
One advantage Liverpool believed they had over their rival was the fact that Laimer is a Reds fan.
In quotes published by the Liverpool Echo, the Austrian footballer previously said: “In general, I’m a football fan. In general, I like to watch the Premier League. I’ve always been a Liverpool fan.”

However, Laimer has decided to stay in Germany and work with his former boss, Julian Nagelsmann.
Laimer will leave RB Leipzig after six years, where he made 167 appearances, scored 11 goals and provided 18 assists.
